Geographically, the Old Brick Guesthouse is located in beautiful Shropshire 22 miles south west of Shrewsbury and about 4.5 miles east of the Welsh border. The guesthouse is located at the bottom of the town of Bishop's Castle within easy reach of the Six Bells and the Boars Head and easy walking distance from the Three Tuns and the Castle Hotel. All four pubs serve great meals and good beer.

From London (5 hours approx)
Take the Birmingham service from Victoria Station.
Change at Birmingham for the Shrewsbury service.
At the Shrewsbury bus station, take the next Bishop's Castle service, of which there are several each day.

From Birmingham (2.5 hours approx)
Take the Shrewsbury service from the Digbeth Bus Station.
At the Shrewsbury bus station, take the next Bishop's Castle service, of which there are several each day.

By Train

From London (4 hours approx)
Take the Swansea service from Paddington Station.
Change at Newport for the Manchester Piccadilly service.
Either
Alight at Craven Arms.
Travel the remaining 10 miles to Bishop's Castle by taxi (few) or bus (even fewer).
Or
Continue on to Shrewsbury
Go to the bus station, which is close to the train station, and take the next Bishop's Castle service, of which there are several each day.

From Birmingham

Take the Shrewsbury service from New Street Station.
Either
Go to the bus station, which is close to the train station, and take the next Bishop's Castle service, of which there are several each day.
Or
Change at Shrewsbury for the Newport service.
Alight at Craven Arms.
Travel the remaining 10 miles to Bishop's Castle by taxi (few) or bus (even fewer).

By car

From Manchester (80 miles):
Pick up M60 and head for North Wales.
At junction 11, head south on M53/A55 to Chester.
From Chester, take A483 south past Wrexham and Oswestry to Welshpool.
From third roundabout, take A490 to Churchstoke.
In Churchstoke, turn east on 489 towards Craven Arms.
About 2 miles outside Churchstoke, turn right and follow signs to Bishop's Castle.

From Birmingham (60 miles):
Take the M54/A5 west to Shrewsbury.
Follow A5 around Shrewsbury towards North Wales, until you reach the roundabout
where Bishop's Castle is signposted.
Turn south west on A488 and follow signs to Bishop's Castle.

From London (150 miles):
Take the M4 west to junction 15 at Swindon.
Go north on A419 to Cirencester.
Then A417 past Gloucester and Ledbury to join the A49 south of Leominster.
Follow A49 north to Craven Arms.
Turn west on A489 and follow signs to Bishop's Castle.

Enter lower end of town via the second access road which is Brampton Road.
Follow road past the church and bear right past the Six Bells pub into Church Street.
You'll find the Old Brick Guesthouse just up the road on the left.
Turn left immediately past the guesthouse into Coppal Paddock and park in our
parking area behind the house.
